Ohio’s Adventure Trails at the Ohio State Fair

In addition to having more than 5,000 miles of natural trails, Ohio also has coffee, spirits, food, shopping, sightseeing, and history trails which TourismOhio has recently begun marketing as Ohio’s Adventure Trails. The media’s interest in Ohio’s Adventure Trails continues to grow and we’ve had the opportunity to promote Ohio’s Adventure Trails in numerous television, radio, and newspaper interviews.

Ohio’s Adventure Trails include the Shawshank Trail in Mansfield, the Butler County Donut Trail, the Columbus Coffee Trail, the Lake Erie Shores and Islands Thrills Trail, and dozens more! We have been working with our partners across Ohio to promote these trails through an interactive map on www.trails.ohio.org, via press releases, through paid search, on our social media, and now at the Ohio State Fair!

The Development Services Agency/TourismOhio booth at the Ohio State Fair, which runs from July 25 to August 5, will include a 20-foot floor map of Ohio that depicts the dozens of Ohio Adventure Trails stops and major tourism attractions. Visitors will be able to stand on their favorite spot in Ohio while taking photos and planning their next Ohio adventure.

New at the state fair this year is the “Ohio. Find It Here. Showcase” in the Expo Center’s newest building, Cardinal Hall. The showcase will include a Mid-Ohio Sports Indy Car, a photo opportunity from the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museum, an Akron Soap Box Derby car, an Amish Country buggy, a 7-foot replica dinosaur bone from COSI, and several other fun items from across Ohio. Thank you to our partners who have signed up to participate. We know the thousands of visitors to the state fair will see these items and want to plan their next Ohio adventure.

Look for more on Ohio’s Adventure Trails as we continue to add new trails to our map at www.trails.ohio.org and as we feature specific trails throughout the coming months (such as the Ohio Ice Cream Trail during National Ice Cream month in July!)
